Canada's Shame: Horace Carby-Samuels Blocks Visitation Access to Sick Elderly Wife

As Canadians, we are among the most socially progressive people when it comes to helping our fellow human beings abroad through goverment refugee policies and opening our homes to these refugees.

But, when it comes to rallying behind fellow human beings in Canada who are being subjected to human rights abuses at home that could involve someone in our own city or literarly our own neighborhood, we, as Canadians, may be among the least progressive among western industrialized societies.

Take, for example, the case on an elderly woman in Ottawa, Canada.  Her husband has blocked visitation access to her son and police services for more than a year. Please watch the above video.  But, how many reporters outside The Canadian have been willing to provide any coverage of this human rights atrocity?  The answer is “zero”.  How many of her own friends and relatives having been made aware of how this woman has been made to essentially be a prisoner in her own home – losing her ability to talk, walk and write at the hands of her abuser have sought to come to her assistance.  Thus far, zero aside from her son.  Her own longtime friends of more than 20 years and even her own brother who lives in Toronto abandoned her because they "don't want to get involved".  These are the same friends and family who this elderly Mom self-lessly helped when she was able-bodied.

It is this kind of hypocrisy among Canadians that has perpetuated the abuse and battery of the elderly and other women as victims of controlling spouses like ex-Notre Dame University professor Horace Carby-Samuels.  It is this kind of hypocrisy that is behind the atrocious Third World like poverty of many First Nations reserves and the homeless people who grow in numbers in our cities in the face of Canadians at the same time opening their door to the plight of refugees.

I guess the Canadian media is too busy presenting Canada as a paradise of human rights and social justice to be bothered to provide much better coverage on human rights abuses at home that is symbolized by the kind of abusive conduct that has been perpetrated by Horace Carby-Samuels in an affluent suburb of Ottawa.  Behind those affluent doors in Ottawa and other Canadians cities, there are atrocious abuses taking place against both women and children alike that Canadian media organizations, and Canadians in general alike, seem unwilling to face and redress as compared to the “refugee problem”.  It is apparent that elderly women are at the bottom of Canada's socio-political "totem pole".

This elderly women wrote notes when she could write that she was being abused.  One note reads - "Dad abuses me.".

Her cries to the Ottawa Police Services were simply ignored.

Horace Carby-Samuels diabolically blocked her son from defending her rights by lying to police that her son suffered from "mental illness" that made him violent.  This was a complete fabrication designed to ensure that the Ottawa Police Service would not listen to the son's representation concerning the abuse of his Mom that has now continued for more than a year.

Raymond, who is shown in the video, has not seen his Mom since 12 June 2015 -- more than a year ago!  His Mom has apparently been made a "prisoner in her own home" by her abled-bodied husband who aside from mental and physical abuse had years ago seized control of money for vexatious litigation in the Federal Court that her deceased mother in Jamaica had left for her.  Horace also had blocked an Ottawa Hospital from providing her speech therapy support.  As a result, Raymond's Mom lost the ability to speak.  The verifiable evidence of Horace's abuse of rights and neglect is contained in litigation brought by Raymond against his Mom's husband pursuant to Court File - 15-66772.

John E Summers is the lawyer for Horace Carby-Samuels who has continued to enable his client to disobey a Court Order rendered by Justice Patrick Smith that sought to enable Raymond to have daily access to provide the care-giving support he had been providing his Mom before the public mischief of Horace to the Ottawa Police Services.
