Today marks Day 516 that Horace Carby-Samuels can continued to block
visitation access of Dezrin, his now phyically disabled wife. Raymond,
her son and Dezrin have not been able to see each other since 12 June
2016 thanks to Horace Carby-Samuels ignoring Justice Patrick's Smith's
court Order.
In the above video, Ottawa Police officers had
sought to enforce Justice Patrick's Smith's court order at 30 Jarlan
Terrace in Kanata, Ontario that had been rendered on 11 February 2016.
But, this was to no avail.
Below are examples of elder abuse cited from Mail.co.uk -
Physical Abuse
An
older man was partially paralysed as a result of a stroke. He had
carers who came into his home three times a day, but his wife cared for
him the rest of the time. Over time, his wife became increasingly
aggressive. One night, when he asked her to help him to the toilet, she
pushed him and he fell, hitting his head. She then helped him up and
slapped him across the face.
Psychological Abuse
A
son was concerned about his mother who was frail and lived on her own.
His brother was the primary carer but worked full-time. The brother took
away his mother's door keys and prevented her from going out or having
contact with anyone. Unfortunately, the concerned son lived far away and
could not visit his mother more often.
Neglect
A
carer was hired to provide 24-hour care for an older man. A concerned
neighbour called on the man and found him thin and dirty and without any
food in the house. He told the neighbour that the carer had a full-time
job elsewhere. Social services was contacted and a full adult
protection investigation was undertaken.
